Audio Deepfakes Are Breaking Trust in Real Voices

A new large-scale audio deepfake study found something important: the threat is not only that people may believe fake voices.

The bigger danger is that people may stop trusting real voices.

That matters because voice is personal. We trust the sound of a parent, child, spouse, executive, attorney, doctor, teacher, or public official. Once synthetic voices become common enough, even real recordings can be doubted.

This supports the core point of No Anonymous AI: deepfake accountability must include voices, not only images and videos.

Detection after harm is not enough.

  1. Watermark first.

  2. KYC/AML before use.

  3. Original stored.

  4. Accountability attached.
