Believe it or not, the U.S. Government Accountability Office warned about deepfakes back in 2020.

They identified the same core risks we are seeing now:

Fake videos.
Fake images.
Fake audio.
Exploitation.
Disinformation.
Election influence.
Erosion of trust.
Non-consensual imagery.
Detection challenges.

The part that matters most: fighting deepfakes after they are already released is not enough.

We need accountability earlier.

Watermark first.
KYC/AML before use.
